A major change.
Life is peachy right now. My exams
are over. I did well this summer. My grades are great! Half of the summer has
flown by in the blink of an eye. That's okay. I'm excited for autumn. My
birthday was on the 25th of July. I turned twenty-three. I spent
time with my family and studied for my final exams. It was the very adult thing
to do. I also made a major decision. I changed my major.
The past school year was my first year back since I took a break. It was tough, but I managed to push forward. I was a business major in high school. I returned to uni to study business. I used to love business so much. By the end of the year, I realized I didn’t have a passion for business anymore.
On my birthday, I met with my
academic advisor who also bought me a cake. We were discussing my academic
goals when I explained that I wasn’t happy with my major. I told her about my
love for English and writing. I love books. I love getting lost in a world that
isn’t my own. I confessed my undying love for literature and writing. My
academic advisor said, “You must change your major. You should study what makes
you happy. Study what you love.” Without hesitation, we checked my course
history. Things were looking up.
Before I decided to take a break
from uni, I was a Liberal Arts major. That worked out in my favor. I was very
anxious about not being able to graduate in the spring like I planned. Not only do I get to graduate in the spring
as planned, I also get to study English and focus on journalism. I’m so excited
for this coming fall semester. I can’t wait to dive into the world of
literature. Plus, I get to take an Italian and Art History course. #Winning
I hope all is well with you. I
hope you’re enjoying your summer. Happy summer everyone!
